 
Newborn Sessions are available in our studio from 10:00 a.m.
to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday,
by appointment only.
It is important to schedule your newborn session in the first
two weeks after birth, preferably in the first 6-10 days of
life, while they're still very sleepy, calm and more likely to
tolerate handling to tuck
into those sweet curly poses. While a premature birth may add
to this time frame, an overdue birth may shorten this
time frame.
All of the photos you see in our
portfolio were shot within 6-10 days of birth.
If you've
missed this time frame, it's okay! While your baby may
not sleep throughout the session or tolerate handling as much,
we will still capture beautiful images of your new bundle for
you. Sometimes they surprise us all - we've had a set of 6
week old triplets sleep through the entire session and a 5 day
old stay awake throughout the entire session!
Newborn sessions last up to two hours
(however please understand that this does not mean two
hours of shooting - this two hour time frame allows time for
calming, soothing, feeding and changing, as well as
set-dressing and posing).
There is ALWAYS
time for a break, a snack or feeding and clothing changes.
Our clients have access to our kitchen for heating up a bottle,
or other private areas for nursing and quiet feeding time. We have
a tv, snacks and drinks
(and coffee!) in the studio waiting area as well as
blankets and pillows - I have had several moms who have dozed on
our couch during their newborn session to catch up on sleep!
We also have lots of magazines and free wi-fi for our clients
(just ask and we'll be happy to enter our password for you)! If your little one is fussy, it happens! Please try not
to
stress or feel rushed - newborn babies have an uncanny way of
picking up on parents' anxiety - we're patient and expect it! All
of our prop clothing, wraps, backdrops and throws are washable, so if your little
one has an accident, please know that it happens at almost
every session, and everything can be thrown in the washer
with a scoop of baby laundry detergent after you leave!

I am always open to creative
shots or ideas that you may have or have spotted on Pinterest, but please understand that
your baby's safety is our #1 priority, and if I'm not
comfortable doing a shot or your little one is too awake or
wiggly, I will not attempt anything that would jeopardize
their safety.
We'll work
with you closely to plan your newborn session, choose backdrops and
prop clothing, and help to make your session go as smoothly as
possible.
What to bring? A
blanket for swaddling, extra diapers and wipes, a pacifier and extra bottles
or breast milk (we have a private area available for nursing,
as well). Also bring along any special keepsakes
or props/clothing that you would like to use during your
session.
A morning
session lasting up to two hours in our studio
with access to many different sets and posing fabrics, and our large
(continuously growing!) selection of itty bitty hats,
headbands, stretch wraps, upcycle sets and newborn props. Newborn
sessions include a family/parent shot and a sibling/pet shot
(if sibling/pet is cooperative).
ALL newborn session clients receive a complimentary
custom birth announcement design with full printing rights
from their session. Ask up about printing your design for you!
We DO NOT schedule
newborn sessions after 12pm due to light quality in the
studio.
IN-HOME newborn sessions
are available for an additional $75.
MULTIPLES: Please add $75 per
additional newborn in the same session.

Session fee includes a complimentary pre-session planning consultation
(in-person, phone or email), the time and talent of Giulia and
Jonathan, image processing and minor retouching to 8-30
images depending on length of the session, and an in-person viewing and ordering appointment.
Session fee does not include any products.
Prints, products
and digital negatives are sold separately.
